Founder of FLOW (For The Love of Women)

Tracey's Story
Organization Overview
I’m the Founder of FLOW – For the Love of Women and I’m honored to serve alongside our Co-Founder, Dr. Sharee Livingston, a dedicated obstetrician-gynecologist who has devoted her career to improving the health and well-being of women. Dr. Livingston’s medical expertise, passion for women’s health, and commitment to health equity have been instrumental in shaping FLOW’s mission and expanding our impact throughout the community.
FLOW is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating menstrual inequity by providing free menstrual hygiene products and education to women, girls and menstruating individuals in vulnerable communities in Harrisburg and surrounding areas.
Through partnerships with Title I schools, shelters, community organizations and outreach events, we help ensure that no one must choose between meeting their basic needs and managing their menstrual health with dignity.
Why does this matter? Because period poverty is a real and growing issue. Studies show that 1 in 4 teens and 1 in 3 adults in the United States struggle to afford menstrual products. Additionally, 1 in 5 college students experience period poverty, and many young people miss school, work, or other important activities simply because they do not have access to the products they need.
Community Impact
Since launching FLOW, we have distributed thousands of menstrual hygiene products throughout Central Pennsylvania, serving Title I schools, shelters, community organizations, and individuals in need. We have also educated youth and adults on menstrual health, reproductive health, sexual health, perimenopause and menopause. Our goal is not only to meet immediate needs but also to raise awareness and create lasting change by making menstrual equity a community priority.
Advice for Families
Every family’s journey is unique, and compassion goes a long way. Whether you’re supporting a loved one, navigating menstrual health, or facing another life challenge, don’t be afraid to ask for help and connect with community resources. Education, patience, and understanding create stronger families and healthier communities. Together we can break stigmas, uplift one another, and ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Up Coming Events
There are no upcoming events at this time, but FLOW continues to accept donations of unscented menstrual pads, liners, tampons and wipes year-round and is always seeking partnerships and sponsors to help advance menstrual equity.
