Nicole's Story

Nicole pic 3.jpg

Nicole Wilkerson is a native of Harrisburg, PA, and a proud graduate of Harrisburg High – John Harris Campus (Class of 1990). She continued her education at Howard University, where she earned a full-ride scholarship to major in Theatre Arts Administration, ultimately receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree.
After graduating, Nicole founded her own production company, Nik Nak Entertainment, quickly establishing herself in the creative industry. She worked alongside notable companies and organizations including BET, Smith Communications, Pepsi, the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Welfare, Ford’s Theatre Company, YMCA, YWCA, Life Esteem Inc., Harrisburg Area Community Theater, Pennsylvania Magazine, and Nathaniel Gadsden’s Writers Wordshop, among others.
Like many entrepreneurs, Nicole experienced significant life shifts that led her to step away from entrepreneurship and explore the corporate world. Yet her passion for independence, creativity, and meaningful impact ultimately guided her back to self-employment. This return led to the founding of Nicole Is Making It Happen, a company focused on helping individuals and families build sustainable budget plans while saving everyday products, services, and life-changing events.
In addition to her work as a Marketing Consultant, Event Planner, and Content Creator, Nicole teaches individuals and businesses how to monetize their social media presence and grow their brands. With a strong online following across Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, she has cultivated a loyal community of over 40,000 followers. Her popular 60-second shopping tips and clearance-item finds have made her a trusted resource for budget-conscious consumers across the country.
In recent years, Nicole has devoted much of her time to the Youth Success Academy, founded by Nathaniel Gadsden’s Writers Wordshop, an organization committed to combating poverty and strengthening literacy in underserved communities. In 2024, she added "author" to her list of accomplishments with the release of HBCU Bound: A Guided Journal for Students Preparing to Attend an Historically Black College or University. Through the use of her journal, she has traveled to the East Coast speaking to high school students, conducting workshops, organizing college tours, and helping young scholars navigate the process of choosing the right HBCU.
In May 2025, Nicole expanded her mission of empowerment even further by founding The W.O.M.B. (Women Operating and Managing Businesses) — a women’s networking organization created to support, uplift, educate, encourage, and inspire women
entrepreneurs and women preparing to launch their own businesses. Under Nicole’s leadership, The W.O.M.B. provides mentorship, professional development, community connections, and growth opportunities designed to help women thrive personally and professionally. The organization has quickly become a vibrant hub for collaboration, business elevation, and collective success.
Through every chapter of her journey, Nicole Wilkerson continues to use her gifts, experience, and passion to empower communities, support women in business, and inspire the next generation of leaders.
